Brian Halstead, CADC, CIP, facilitates comprehensive intervention services that are designed to enable family members to communicate the need for their afflicted loved one to get help for themselves.
Founder, Brian Halstead, began his formal career in addiction treatment as a Counselor at the Reading Detox in 1986. He spent five years as an outpatient Counselor at the Berks Youth Counseling Center working with adolescents and adults and managed a transitional halfway house for homeless alcoholics. In 1991, Brian joined The Caron Foundation in Wernersville, Pennsylvania, as an Addiction Counselor where he honed his unique combination of cognitive and experiential techniques. During his career at Caron, Brian was trained in all facets of inpatient treatment and eventually became Executive Director of Adult Services. Brian was instrumental in shaping many of the programs in use today by this internationally recognized treatment center.
Throughout his career, Brian has demonstrated success treating difficult patient populations such as adolescents, chronic relapse, addicted individuals with abuse issues, and addicts/alcoholics that have been classified as "treatment resistant" by previous treatment providers.
Brian is a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) as well as a Certified Intervention Professional (CIP).
Brian's professional experience is enlightened by his own 30+ years in recovery. He lives with his wife, Sandy, in Pennsylvania, and enjoys riding motorcycles and restoring old cars.
Sandy Halstead has 15+ years of experience working with addicted individuals and their families, helping them to heal from the devastating effects of the disease, and re-build their lives in recovery. Sandy is a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) as well as an Associate Sex Addiction Therapist. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Addiction Studies from Alvernia College. Sandy began her career at Caron Treatment Center, where her expertise in relapse and family demonstrated her unique ability to connect with clients, utilizing cognitive, behavioral, and experiential techniques. Sandy brings these same qualities and skills to East Coast Recovery, where she provides clients with an environment that allows them to face the painful truth about the negative impact of the disease on their lives, by challenging denial patterns and defenses, and provides them with the knowledge, skills and resources to make the changes necessary to maintain a lifestyle of recovery.
Sandy's personal experience with relapse and recovery provide her with a level of empathy and understanding that provides clients with an environment to become honest and open with themselves and others about the negative impact of the disease on their lives and of those they love. Sandy also believes in the importance of family involvement in the treatment process, with the belief that healing and re-connection can occur, if everyone is committed to taking responsibility for their own recovery processes.
